Harvey Cedars replenished beaches have stood up very well to this winter’s waves. With the exception of loosing some sand from the beach at the south part on town bordering North Beach, they’ve come though the winter in great shape. The Army Corps of Engineers will survey our beaches this spring and report on the exact conditions. Surveying is supposed to take place in the Spring and Fall to monitor beach condition. Last year during the Replenishment project, Harvey Cedars lost a lot of Sand due to storm activity that also caused a 50 day project completion delay. The Borough was out bulldozing sand to keep the water at bay. Fortunately, this has not been the case this winter.
Additionally, the Borough has been at work on a few beach access ramps to improve their length and accessibility. We’re counting the days to Summer!
