The Board of Commissioners is planing to use an Ocean County Community Development Block Grant to renovate the 75th Street Bay Beach pavilion. In the past, Harvey Cedars has used funding to make improvements to Sunset Park and install an automatic door at borough hall.
This year, according to Clerk Daina Dale, Harvey Cedars is ‘going to focus on the pavailion ramps that make it accessible for the disabled. It’s a beach where families bring their children. The pavilion is a nice place to sit and get out of the sun for awhile.” The estimated cost for the repairs will be $50,000. Ms. Dale said in recent years, the county has counseled municipalities to apply for grants every other year. That way they might be eligible for more County funding.
