Keeping Harvey Cedars Taxpayers Informed!

Storm Info Update/Happy Thanksgiving!

Greetings,

Here is a quick update on Harvey Cedars and storm cleanup:

*Presently, there are NO ‘Community Cleanups’ scheduled until Borough officials inform us of a need. They are hoping to get the Borough back to a regular pick up schedule and have issued the following request of all HC residents:

Please place your storm debris items at the curb line and off of the street. Separate all Hazardous materials, electronics, tires, engines, metals, and any recyclables. Keep regular household garbage in cans and separate from the bulk trash.
White goods, electronics & brush will be picked up separately.
Storm debris placed at the curb in piles will be picked up by the Borough through December 15After December 15th all storm debris placed at the curb must be bagged or canned for pick up.

Contractors hired to remove debris or to clean your home and/or property are responsible for the disposal of the debris including sheet rock.
Regular trash & recycling pick up (bagged & canned items) will be picked up on schedule.

Last Saturday’s Community Cleanup was a success! This from Trustee Jim Loudon: I would like to thank everyone who came out to today, on behalf of the Harvey Cedars Taxpayer’s Association, and Mayor Oldham asked me to extend his personal thank you as well. We had 29 volunteers and we picked up debris from Sunset Park, collected and stacked fallen baseball field fence sections at the Park, cleared flood damaged personal property on Maiden Lane and walked the entire Harvey Cedars beach picking up large and small pieces of beach debris.

*Natural gas is now available to 5,075 customers’ meters on LBI including HC. Please remember to sign your meter tags and return them ASAP to the Borough.

*Mail delivery resumed this week- as long as your mailbox is accessible.

*The curfew has been lifted on LBI for all except Beach Haven and many stores opening again as well.

The HCTA would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We appreciate our blessings and know we have much to be thankful for this year.  Stay safe and enjoy the holiday!

I cannot tell you how reassuring your daily reports were during and after the storm. It was just so comforting knowing someone was on watch at Harvey Cedars and taking care of our second home. Receiving daily reports gave me a sense of continuity and security.

It was such a sense of organization in the middle of the madness surrounding us. It was respite for the mind.

    Thank you so much.
